From this course onwards, the student of vocal music should be able to sing solely with the tanpura and without the accompaniment of the harmonium. This course also introduces the student to the vilambit khyaal, as well as to the dhrupad style of music.

Improving riyaz techniques, Understanding morning riyaz, shuddha, komal, tivra swara riyaz . Moving further with morning raga riyaz.
2. Bada Khayal Raga Exploration.
More on raga vistar, aroh, avroh, pakad, vilambit bandish with vilambit taal, astai antara bol alap sargam & taan. Dhrut bandish along with Kalyan, Bageshri, Bhairav & Bihag raga.
3. Chota Khayal Raga Exploration.
More on raga vistar, aroh, avroh, pakad, bandish, astai-antara bol alap, astai bol banav, astai taan. Also covering raga Hamir, Asavari, Malkouns, Shankara, Deskar, Mand.
4. Dhrupad – Dhamar.
Preparing dhrupad & dhamar in any two raga. Learning Dhrupad bandish with choutaal (dhugun) and Dhamar bandish with dhamar taal.
5. Learning Tarana.
Preparation of tarana in any two ragas. Teentaal – tarana and Ektaal – tarana preparation.
6. Learning About Merukhnad.
Getting knowledge about merukhand & exploring it’s mathematical aspects. practicing vowels swara from a mathematical point of view.
7. Learning Dhun, Bhajan, Lokgeet, Natyageet.
Preparing any bhajan such as Raga Patdeep bhajan, baje murliya baje. Preparing lokgeet such as Kya leke ayo bande. Preparing a Natyageet such as Sakhi mand zalya.
8. Knowing Different Swara Types.
Knowing Khatka, Murki, Jod swaras. Detailed study, exploration and practice.
9. Vilambit- Dhrut Taal & Laya Exploration.
Exploring Vilambit Ektaal, zaptaal & teentaal. By hand preparing Taal dadra, rupak , keharva, zaptaal, ektaal, choutaal, dhamar, teentaal etc. with dugun.
10. Practice Session / Exam Preparation.
Listening to Bada khayal – chota khayal raga in syllabus, dhrupad – dhamar, tarana, bhajan, lokgeet, natyageet. Exercising to identify taal, raga from recordings. Complete practice sessions for palate, bada khayal, chota khayal, dhrupad – dhamar, tarana, bhajan, lokgeet, natyageet, etc. Learning to bandish notation, taal practice and switching of ragas from exam point of view.
11. Theory.
Practicing the writing of notations, comparing all ragas to understand differences, writing of bandish notations and all taal information with dugun. Understanding definitions and learning more about dhrupad-dhamar, vilambit khayal, chotakhayal, bhajan, lokgeet, natyageet, bollywood music etc. Recollection of rules of Shadja-madhyama, shadja-pancham and vadi-samvadi relation swara. Brief introduction of north indian music and south indian music.
