Practical Exam

1. Complete syllabus for Prarambhik and Praveshika Purna.

2. Being able to play single and double speed of Tevra and Chautaal’s Theka by Pakhawaj playing technique. Also able to say it while maintaining Taal on hand.

3. Ability to play and say the single and double of Deepchandi, Dhumali and Ektaal’s Theka.

4. To play Kaidas in Zaptaal with at least five Paltas and a Tihai which contains one bol among Tita, Tirakita or Traka in each Kaida.

5. Being able to play two laggis each in Taal Dadra and Keherwa.

6. Play one rela in Teentaal with Paltas and a Tihai.

Written Exam

1. Being able to write all Taal which you have learnt in the syllabus with a notation system.

2. Definitions – Kaida, Rela, Gath, Chatashra Jaati, Teeshra Jaati, Mohara and Laggi.

3. To be able to write a Kaida, Rela or Tukda in Teentaal and Zaptaal using notation system that you have learnt.

4. Detailed study of the Pt. Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande notation system of Taal.

5. The Thekas played with Bada khayal, Chota Khayal and Tarana with the information of the Taal.

6. Give information for the Bol being played together on Tabla and Dagga.

7. Draw a neat and clean diagram of Tabla and Dagga. Name the parts.
